Supported content and limitations
- Public HTML pages are supported: articles, blogs, documentation, and pages with content directly in the HTML.
- Keeps headings, paragraphs, lists, quotes, tables, code blocks, links, and image URLs. Page layout and interactions are not preserved.
- Target page JavaScript is not executed. Dynamic pages, login, CAPTCHAs, paywalls, and blocked requests may prevent conversion.
- HTML limit: 2MB. Request timeout: 20 seconds. Large pages and non-HTML files are not supported.

What is URL to Markdown conversion?
URL to Markdown fetches a web page, extracts its content, and converts HTML into Markdown text. It is useful for saving articles, organizing notes, and providing readable reference material to AI tools.
Where is the page processed?
The URL is sent to our server, which requests the target page and returns HTML to your browser for Markdown conversion. We do not save page content or forward your browser cookies or login details. The target website and hosting providers may record standard request information.
Can it convert pages requiring login or JavaScript?
Only HTML content available without login is supported. The tool does not execute target page JavaScript or bypass CAPTCHAs or paywalls. If content appears only after scripts run, the result may be incomplete or empty.
What is the difference between main content and the full page?
By default, Mozilla Readability identifies article content, with article or main elements as a fallback for short pages. The tool tries to remove navigation, footers, and sidebars. Disable main content extraction to convert static content from the page body. Complex pages may need manual review and cleanup.
Are images, tables, and links preserved?
Images become Markdown image links, ordinary links become absolute URLs, and tables become GFM tables. Image files are not downloaded or embedded. Merged cells and the original layout of complex tables may not be fully preserved.
